Title: Rooted in Feeling: Rhonda’s MoodNest Journey a sneak peak at the book you can enjoy.
Dedication
To every soul who ever felt deeply womb-like and loved anyway.
Author’s Note
I wrote this book to inspire others who have a passion and feel different, those who have always known in their hearts that they were meant to make a difference in the lives of others. This book is for the quiet visionaries, the deeply feeling souls, and the light-seekers who want to be a beacon in someone’s darkness.
I know what it feels like to be the one struggling, to wonder if anyone sees you or if hope will ever return. I’ve been there. And that’s why MoodNest exists. To remind you that you are never alone, that healing is possible, and that your story and your feelings deserve to be heard.
If this story touches even one person and makes them feel seen, it has served its purpose.

Prologue: Becoming the Dreamer
I was raised in a home where strength was a necessity, not a choice. My parents worked tirelessly, often sacrificing their own dreams just to make sure their children had what they needed. We didn’t have much, but we had love. Still, even as a child, I sensed that I was a little different from the rest of my siblings. Not better, not louder, just different.
There was something inside of me that stirred at the quiet moments, that lit up whenever I saw someone hurting, and that burned with purpose. I wanted to do something great. I didn’t know what that would be yet, but I knew it would be something that changed lives, something that healed.
My first step was in nursing. I became a nursing assistant and eventually earned my LPN degree. For over 20 years, I worked in the medical field, caring for patients, calming their fears, and holding their hands through pain. But something still tugged at my heart. I wasn’t done yet.
So I went back to school. I earned my bachelor’s degree in sociology because I wanted to understand people on a deeper level. That still wasn’t enough. I knew that listening, guiding, and emotionally supporting others was where I could make the most difference. I became a crisis counselor.
Yet even then, there was more.
I returned to school once again, this time for my master’s degree in social work. I wanted to touch people’s lives not just in moments of crisis but in long-lasting, meaningful ways. But while I was learning theories and practicing advocacy, a seed was growing inside me. A dream that I didn’t yet have words for.
And then it came to me, like a whisper on the wind during a quiet walk: MoodNest.
A nest for emotions. A safe space for feelings. A gentle guide for healing.
That was the beginning of something far more than a brand. It was the birth of a mission. The turning point of my purpose. And this, this book, is my journey.
Chapter 1: The Awakening
The night was soft and quiet. A lavender candle flickered on the edge of my desk as lo-fi music whispered through my headphones. My laptop glowed like a portal, not just to the internet but to the future I’d been dreaming about MoodNest Wellness. This wasn’t just an idea or a business plan. It was a calling.
Long before I created affirmation journals, emotional wellness coloring books, or printable trackers, I was a listener. In my work as a nursing assistant and later as a crisis counselor, I sat with people in their quietest moments—moments filled with heartbreak, trauma, hope, and silence. I saw emotions not as something to suppress but as maps guiding us back to ourselves.
It was during one of my long walks under the twilight sky that the word came to me, MoodNest. It felt warm, gentle, and secure. A nest for moods. A space where every feeling could land softly and be understood.
That night, I bought the domain name.
Chapter 2: The Spark
One morning, I woke up with a phrase echoing in my mind: “People heal when they feel seen.”
That became the guiding principle of MoodNest. I wasn’t just creating products, I was crafting emotional mirrors for people to recognize their strength, their softness, and their humanness. I wanted every page, every tool, every visual to say: “You matter. Your feelings are valid.”
I expanded my offerings to include reflection journals, emotional flip cards, and my favorite, Healthy Mood Eating flashcards. Because, as I always say, wellness isn’t just emotional it’s everything. It’s what we feel, what we feed ourselves, and how we show up in the world.
There was no team. No fancy office. No marketing budget. Just my heart, a laptop, Canva, and my will to try. Heart can move mountains—one Instagram post, one email subscriber, one late-night brainstorm at a time.
I wasn’t trying to go viral. I was trying to be valuable.
Chapter 3: Rhonda vs. The Algorithm
Building a brand from scratch isn’t romantic. Some days felt like shouting into a void. I would post something meaningful and hear silence in return. I poured my soul into a journal design and it might go unnoticed. The algorithm wasn’t always kind, and at times, it made me question if my message was being heard.
But every time doubt crept in, I reminded myself of my “why.” I didn’t start MoodNest to be trendy. I started it to be true.
I began writing from the heart, blog posts, short reflections, and letters to my audience. And slowly, people began to write back. “This made me cry, in a good way,” one person messaged. Another said, “You put into words what I’ve never been able to say.”
Those messages became my fuel. I printed them and pinned them to my wall. MoodNest wasn’t just reaching people it was helping them feel.
Chapter 4: Dreaming in Color
I let myself dream. Not in grayscale, but in full color. I imagined MoodNest on Twitch. I pictured calm lo-fi beats playing while I hosted emotional check-ins. I imagined offering digital wellness classes, voice journaling sessions, and guided affirmations.
I started building overlays. I designed celestial chat boxes and “Be Right Back” screens with stars and affirmations. I created the MoodNest world, not just as a creator but as a caretaker of space.
Each design was a soft rebellion against burnout, hustle culture, and emotional numbness. Each upload whispered, “You are safe here.”
With every click, I reminded myself, “This* is real now. This is mine.”*
Chapter 5: The Message
Late one night, a message came through my Ko-fi page:
“Your mood tracker changed my life. I finally feel like someone gets me. Thank you.”
I stared at the words. My chest tightened, not in anxiety but in awe. This was it. This was why I built MoodNest. So that someone, somewhere, would feel seen.
I cried. Quietly. Gratefully. My purpose wasn’t just an idea anymore; it had become a ripple in someone else’s healing. And in that moment, I knew: MoodNest wasn’t a project. It was a movement.
Chapter 6: Creator, Mentor, Visionary
I started sharing more my thoughts, my voice, my process. On my Twitch streams, I talked about anxiety, burnout, self-compassion, and emotional fatigue. I wasn’t an influencer. I was a witness.
I held journaling parties. I offered “Breathe With Me” sessions where we simply sat together in silence and calm music. I created spaces that felt like hugs.
I taught others how to build products from purpose. Not just how to market but how to make something that matters.
I wasn’t trying to be famous. I was trying to be helpful.
Chapter 7: The MoodNest Way
What made MoodNest different wasn’t just the visuals. It was the experience.
When someone opened one of my digital journals, it felt like stepping into a warm, lavender-lit room. The fonts were gentle. The colors were soothing. The affirmations didn’t shout—they whispered.
Even the file names had care: moodnest_starlightjournal_final.pdf, safe_space_checkin_cardset.png. My products weren’t just downloads; they were digital comfort.
And people felt it. They told me so. “This feels like it was made for me.” And the truth was it was.
Chapter 8: Becoming the Dream
One quiet morning, I looked at my dashboard-Gumroad, Ko-fi, Canva, and StreamYard—and smiled.
I’d done it.
I was no longer dreaming of being a creator. I was one. Independent. Intentional. Impactful.
MoodNest had grown from a whisper in my heart to a home for thousands of others seeking softness and truth.
And me? I didn’t just find my calling. I became it.
Final Reflection: Why I Chose This Path
“I didn’t create MoodNest to escape,” I said one evening on a live stream, my voice steady with emotion. “I created MoodNest because I needed a place to feel everything. I wanted that place to exist not just for me, but for anyone who ever felt too much.”
The chat was quiet. A stream of hearts floated across the screen.
“I didn’t wait for permission,” I said. “I became the creator I needed.”
At that moment, I knew: I wasn’t just building a brand. I was building a legacy of healing.
MoodNest isn’t just a business. It’s my soul’s work.
And it’s only just beginning.
